You don’t have to spend too much time in the Beehive State to know that it is one of the most beautiful places in the entire country. However, for us Utahns who enjoy the beauty of this state day after day, sometimes we need a gentle reminder of how blessed we are to live here. To help, we’ve created this road trip in Utah to some of the most scenic and beautiful places in the state. From red rocks to waterfalls to gorgeous lakes, you will fall in love with the beauty of Utah all over again.
Every corner of Utah is beautiful, but for the purposes of this particular road trip, we focused on the southern part of the state. You will travel approximately 276 miles if you follow our itinerary. We suggest using this customizable map to help you add or remove stops along the way because we know there are many more areas of Utah that definitely deserve to be enjoyed.
Toquerville Falls, La Verkin
Toquerville Falls, Unnamed Road, La Verkin, UT 84745, USA
Our road trip begins with the beautiful Toquerville Falls. The falls themselves are approximately six miles away from the small town of La Verkin and worth every minute to get there. The falls cascade in three tiers, with the lower falls flowing into a natural swimming hole. Just be aware that the road to these falls can be a bit rough and a four-wheel-drive vehicle is recommended!

Cedar Breaks National Monument is often overlooked due to its close proximity to both Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park. However, this is one stop on our road trip you won’t want to skip. In fact, this area may remind you of a miniature Bryce Canyon National Park — but without the crowds. If you want a quick visit, just take in the views, but if you have a little more time to spare, consider one of the hiking trails around the monument.
Panguitch Lake is tucked away in the mountains and surrounded by forests. If you love to fish, bring your fishing pole as this lake is home to some of the biggest trout in all of Utah. Bryce Canyon is one stop on our road trip where you can easily spend an entire week. However, if you only want to spend an afternoon or a single day, stop by the viewpoints that are located along the main road. You may also want to tackle the Queens Garden Trail, a 1.8-mile trail that gives you breathtaking views of the hoodoos, red cliffs, and more.
Fish Lake is not only the largest natural mountain lake in Utah, it is also one of the most beautiful. This lake sits at 8,800 feet in elevation and is an outdoor lover’s paradise.
