Utah is known for its remarkable canyons. However, there is one that is quite unique and many people don’t even know it exists — Resurrection Canyon. Tucked away in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and near the Utah and Arizona state line, this incredible canyon features tall canyon walls, the most unique rock formations, and a beautiful desert landscape. This hike is truly one that you’ll want to see for yourself.
The hike through Resurrection Canyon in southern Utah is quite a beautiful adventure. This is a 3.9-mile out-and-back trail that offers something unique to see every step of the way.
This trail is near the town of Big Water and you’ll find the trailhead just off Smoky Mountain Road.
While this trail is beautiful and unique, there are two challenges you must be prepared to face. The first is this trail is sandy so it can be difficult in areas to keep your footing. You’ll certainly want proper hiking shoes for your journey.
The second is that portions of the trail can be difficult to follow and there is little cell service to help you navigate via your smartphone. It is best to download a map of the trail before you even begin your adventure.
Once you reach the canyon, the trail becomes easier to follow and also quite remarkable. The canyon walls and rock formations provide unique landscapes that make you feel like you are tucked away from all of the worries in this world.
Plus, you likely won’t see many other hikers on this trail. This allows you to explore, enjoy, and experience peace, quiet, and natural beauty without worrying about others.
The hike to Resurrection Canyon is beautiful and unique. It’s definitely one trail that allows you to unleash your imagination.
