There are some pretty delicious places to eat around Utah but when you are craving true Southern food, there is one place to go — Pig and a Jelly Jar. This restaurant is not only going to fill your stomach but it will fill your heart as it is only one of a handful of restaurants in the area where dogs are legally allowed on the outdoor patio.
This Utah restaurant first opened its doors in Salt Lake City in 2012. Since then, it has opened additional locations in Holladay and Ogden.
No matter which location you visit, you’ll be greeted with a warm, welcoming, and lively environment. In Salt Lake, for example, you’ll be impressed with the remarkable mural and brightly-colored walls.
While you can always enjoy your meal in the friendly atmosphere, during the summer, head outdoors. The patio is a delightful place to enjoy a meal and even better, your pet can join you.
The beignets are also a must-try item at this restaurant. This tasty fried dough is covered in powdered sugar and served with a lavender blueberry jam. You definitely won’t want to share your basket.
No matter what you order, all of the food is made from scratch and prepared with the highest-quality ingredients. Many of the ingredients are also locally sourced.
Make sure to check out the drink menu during your visit. You can order a specialty cocktail like a Pig Punch or a Pineapple Smash, or just enjoy some craft beer or wine. There are several options, making it easy to find exactly what you want.
You can visit this Utah restaurant’s website and Facebook page for more information on current hours, menu items, news, etc. And we want to know … have you ever eaten at this restaurant? What did you order? Did you sit out on the patio? Let us know in the comments!
