There’s a working cattle ranch right here in Salt Lake City, and in addition to offering fresh, grass-fed beef at its market, the ranch typically hosts several festivals for the public throughout the year. The Sunflower Farm Festival is going on right now, and you’re going to want to get a look at the huge field of flowers!
Address: 3500 North 2200 West, Salt Lake City, UT 84116
The owners of Cross E Ranch are 5th and 6th generation Utah ranchers, and this working cattle ranch and farm is a testament to the family's dedication to its agricultural tradition.
The ranch offers festivals throughout the year, but this year is a little bit different. The owners originally intended to host movies projected on the side of the barn this summer, but realized the need for social distancing. They decided to plant huge fields of sunflowers instead...
...in anticipation of hosting a sunflower festival! Just wait til you see these brilliant yellow blooms covering the countryside. The festival runs July 11th through August 8th.
The farm planted 20 different varieties, so you'll see some different colors and sizes of flowers here. While you're strolling through the fields, you can even cut some to take home with you.
You'll get one free stem with your paid admission; additional single stems cost $2, or you can get a half dozen for $11 and a full dozen for $20. The farm store sells containers you can use to display your sunny treasures.
To attend the festival, reserve your tickets online for a specific date and time. The ranch limits the number of people in the field at one time in order to keep everyone safe and healthy.
