When you are searching for hiking trails with waterfalls in Utah, you don’t have to look too hard. There are some incredible waterfalls all around the state. To view some of these falls, it will require a little more effort than others, but it will be well worth the journey. In southern Utah, one of the best waterfall hikes is the Red Reef Trail. You will find the trailhead at the Red Cliffs Campground near St. George. This is an out-and-back hiking trail that takes you through red rocks and desert landscape. The waterfall itself isn’t large but it is surrounded by red rocks, creating quite the sight.
One popular waterfall hike in Utah is Calf Creek Falls near Escalante. You will find the trailhead to this waterfall off of Highway 12 at the Calf Creek Recreation Area. While this trail is quite flat, it is sandy in some areas, making the trail a bit challenging. It is also approximately 3 miles one-way so give yourself time to explore the trail and enjoy the falls. Once you reach Calf Creek Falls, cool off at the natural swimming hole at the bottom of the falls.
