It’s that time of year again, Utah! After the sun goes down, you can see spotlights tracing their way across the sky, drawing lovers of all things terrifying into haunted houses across the state. There’s no shortage of goosebump-inducing spots in the Beehive State, but there are a few that are even scarier than normal. Castle of Chaos is so scary that you have to sign a waiver before they’ll let you in. Take a look:
Are you ready for a terrifying night of chills, thrills, and spine-tingles? If you're heading to Castle of Chaos, you might want to get some extra sleep the night before, because you probably won't sleep for several nights after your visit.
You're required to sign a waiver before you enter the Haunted House or other attractions here. You'll find Castle of Chaos at 7980 South State St, Midvale, UT 84047.
Castle of Chaos has been named as one of the best haunted houses in the entire country. The sets, acting, and costume design will blow you away, if you can stop screaming long enough to appreciate the artistry.
There are five levels of terror here, and you'll want to decide beforehand which one you can handle. Level one, "Monster Be Gone," includes a glow stick wand that keeps the monsters at bay.
When you choose Level Three, "Hands of Horror," the creatures will reach out and touch or grab you, but won't move you from the spot where you're standing. Be prepared to be startled by the icy-cold fingers of a creepy ghoul.
Level Four is the "Ex-Scream Hands Of Horror," and it is not for the faint of heart (we're serious - if you have a heart condition, this level would be a bad idea).
If you choose Level Four, expect to be kidnapped and dragged away into a dark part of the castle, where the beasts will threaten you, restrain you, and basically terrify you until you just about have a nervous breakdown.
If you think you can handle extreme stress and terror, sign up for Level Five, "Ultimate Hands Of Horror."
You might not make it out alive after the ghouls and monsters grab you, restrain you, put a hood or blindfold on you, and drag you into a part of the castle where no one can hear your screams.
To visit Castle of Chaos, you'll need to reserve your spot in advance on the website. On your reserved date, at the designated time, you'll show up and get in line to enter.
Castle of Chaos is open now, and will remain open through November 2nd. Prices vary at Castle of Chaos, depending on the level of fear you choose, and whether or not you want to cut your time in line down by buying a special VIP or Skip the Line pass. See the website for full details.
