When it comes to getting away and taking a vacation, you don’t have to spend a fortune. In fact, there are destinations in Utah that are perfect for a getaway and will not break the bank. Ogden is one Utah city that is perfect for a vacation (or even a staycation!), and it has something for every member of the family. Plus, you can find an affordable vacation home rental that is spacious and perfect for setting up your base camp. Here are just a few ideas for planning a budget-friendly vacation in Ogden, Utah.
Ogden, Utah is one of the larger cities in the Beehive State with approximately 87,000 residents. It’s a town that is full of history and plenty to do and see.
This street has a history that dates back to its railroad days. Today, you can spend time walking along this charming street and visiting its many art galleries, locally-owned shops, restaurants, and more. You can easily spend a few hours exploring all that this area has to offer.

Kids of all ages will love to visit the George S. Eccles Dinosaur Park. This unique park features full-size dinosaur replicas that move, roar, and make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time.
You will find more than 100 dinosaur sculptures around this park and you’ll even want to stop by the on-site museum to learn a little more about dinosaurs as well. Be aware that there is a small admission fee to walk around the park.

A day outside and surrounded by natural beauty is the perfect day and there are plenty of hiking trails near Ogden that will help you enjoy a little fresh air and sunshine.
One of my personal favorites is the Waterfall Canyon Trail, which is a short hike, yet a bit challenging. However, the falls at the end make the hard work well worth it.
You can also check out the Ogden River Parkway, a paved trail that winds along the Ogden River and takes you to several parks and attractions like the Ogden Botanical Gardens. You can always hop off this trail near one of Ogden’s tasty places to eat or even bring a picnic for a budget-friendly meal.
And, if you want to set up base camp, head to the town of Farr West, just outside of Ogden. Here, you will find the Wright Retreat, a darling vacation rental.
Considered one of the best places to stay in Utah, this 1,500-square-foot vacation home rental comfortably sleeps six guests and comes fully stocked so you don’t have to worry about packing excessively for your getaway.
Plus, there are plenty of amenities to help you have fun AND relax. Binge-watch your favorite show on the smart TV, relax in the sauna, or soak in the outdoor hot tub. Plus, the cost per night is less than what you'll find at most hotels.
Ogden, Utah is the perfect affordable family vacation. From parks and hikes to shopping and more, there is never a shortage of things to do and see — and you don’t have to pay a fortune either!
