I could eat a donut every single day. I love these confectionaries and trying new donut shops is at the top of the list of my favorite things to do. While I have many favorite donut shops in Utah I could recommend, one that is an absolute must-try is Chubby Baker. With locations in Salt Lake City and Orem, this bakery will change the way you think about donuts. Once you give it a try, you’ll know exactly what I mean …
Welcome to Chubby Baker. This is an Asian-American bakery that specializes in perfectly filled donuts.
Of course, you will find traditional ring donuts on the menu with options such as a plain sugar donut or a brown butter donut. However, I recommend you try the blueberry lavender donut or the Kit Kat chocolate donut if you have a sweet tooth.
But you don’t want to leave without taking home one, two, or a dozen of the filled donuts. These delicious treats come in Asian-inspired flavors such as a Thai young coconut or ube cream.
The strawberry and cream donut is quite popular and delicious. It’s made with a homemade strawberry sauce and Chantilly cream. This is a large donut so it’s okay if you save a few bites for later.
And if you are in the mood to try something new and different, Chubby Baker features special donuts each month that are a bit unique and extremely delicious.
While this bakery serves incredible donuts, it’s not the only reason to walk through its doors. They also offer a cake box, which is a large piece of cake to satisfy any craving. From strawberry to chocolate, you’ll find flavors that will excite the taste buds.
You can also pair your donuts or cake with coffee, tea, matcha, or an assortment of other drinks.
Both the SLC and Orem locations are open six days a week — closed on Mondays. They are open from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Filled donuts are always ready to go by 1 p.m. each day.
