Ben Lomond Suites has a long history of deaths at the hotel. An employee fell to his death down the elevator shaft; staff reports that the elevator often moves on its own. Rooms 1101 and 1102 are believed to be haunted by a mother and her son. The mother drowned in the bathtub in room 1101; the son committed suicide in room 1102. Guests hear voices and the bathtub faucet in room 1101 turns itself on.
4. Moore’s Old Pine Inn, Marysvale

The allegedly haunted Marysville Inn was built in 1882, so it has had plenty of time to gather ghosts. Guests and staff report seeing ghost women sitting on the porch swings.

What is the most haunted hotel in Utah?

There are a handful of haunted hotels in Utah — more than just on the list above. In fact, one of Utah’s most haunted hotels is the Ben Lomond Suites in Ogden.

  • Currently known as The Bigelow Hotel, this beautiful place to stay was built in 1927 and was considered one of the most majestic and grand hotels in the Beehive State. It actually sits on property that was once home to another hotel — the Reed.
  • This hotel was built in 1891. Shortly after The Reed opened, a death occurred in the hotel. Years later, another death occurred and eventually, in 1926, the hotel was torn down. A new hotel was built in its place — the current Bigelow Hotel.
  • Other deaths have occurred in the building and it is believed that these are the ghosts that haunt the hotel today.

 

What other haunted places should I visit in Utah?

  • The Beehive State is home to all types of creepy and haunted locations. If you love the outdoors and a good spook, head to Hobbs Reservoir. This is believed to be the most haunted reservoir in Utah and this body of water is supposedly haunted by several spirits who drowned when a strange undertow occurred in the 1970s.
  • If you think a haunted reservoir is spooky, how about a haunted hike? Rock Canyon Trail near Provo is considered the creepiest hike in Utah. This trail takes you through a haunted rock canyon that is haunted by multiple spirits. What’s interesting is it seems paranormal activity significantly increases in this area during poor weather.
