From the East Coast to the West, all of America’s 50 states each have their own holiday traditions that we love to witness. If you’re looking to make the 2018 holiday season one that’s undeniably memorable, you might want to consider paying a trip to New York’s famous Big Apple.
Taking place this year on November 28, 2018, the 86th annual Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is one of the best parts of the season.
This year's tree lighting ceremony will be more exciting than ever. The star that tops the tree is getting its first redesign since it was added to the annual tradition in 2004. The new star weighs 900 pounds and is made up of over three million Swarovski crystals.
Other traditions, like the performances that take place around Rockefeller Center, are free for the public to visit and work on a first-come, first-served basis.
Beginning at 7 p.m., you can either see the tree lighting in person or catch the event on television on NBC from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on November 28, 2018.
