A great vacation can help you reconnect with nature, especially if your destination is this fantastic eco lodge in California. Treebones is a unique place where luxury and ecologically responsible living intersect, and you’ll want to plan a trip here A.S.A.P.
Treebones is a unique eco lodge located at Big Sur in California. This glamping resort is all about celebrating nature, not taking advantage of it.
There are a few different types of accommodation at Treebones, including the Yurt Village, the Autonomous Tent, the Twig Hut, and the Human Nest.
The Yurt Village is a collection of yurts that offer wood flooring, comfy beds, hot running water, and mesmerizing ocean views.
These special campsites are clustered together to create a community vibe, which makes them ideal for connecting with fellow adventurers.
The Autonomous Tent looks like a giant cocoon and comes with private deck, king size bed, gas fireplace, full bathroom, and leather lounging chairs.
It’s powered by a solar array and is perched on the edge of a stunning cliff. The tent walls are made of fabric stretched over metal ribs, allowing the sunlight to filter through and create a glowing effect.
The Human Nest is composed of woven branches and can sleep two adults. You’ll have front row seats to one of the best views at Treebones, plus an outdoor cook station and a full-size futon pad.
The Twig Hut is an unusual, two-story art piece that doubles as a campsite. It was handwoven out of braces and comes with a full-size futon and magnificent ocean views.
It’s not wind or rainproof though, so bring your tent to set up inside just in case!
Guests can dine at the resort’s Wild Coast Restaurant or The Sushi Bar. Both serve fresh produce from the on-site organic garden and a selection of regional wines. Plus, you can’t beat the views.
Given the resort’s fabulous location, there are plenty of opportunities to explore nearby. Hike Big Sur, go on a special Eco Adventure organized by the resort, or relax with an outdoor yoga session on Treebones’ panoramic platform.
Rates start at $95 for a plain campsite and top out at $595 per night for the Autonomous Tent.
A visit to Treebones is sure to give you the eco-experience of a lifetime.
