You Should Visit Glacier National Park Before It's Gone

America is filled with incredible natural wonders, but they’re not all going to be around forever. This treasured national park is undergoing some tragic changes and will be a very different place in just a few years. Scientists have announced that it is now "inevitable" that the glaciers in Montana’s Glacier National Park will all disappear in the next few decades.

In fact, most researchers agree that if the current trends hold, all the glaciers will be gone by 2030. That’s 12 years away.

Climate change and rising temperatures have been contributing to the rapid melting of the park’s famous icy formations.

The park had 156 named glaciers in the late 1800s. Today it has only 26. Compare that to 39 in 1966.

It doesn’t help that Montana is warming twice as quickly as the global average.

So can anything be done? Nope – scientists say that there’s "no hope for them to survive."

Future visitors to the national park will see a vastly different landscape than today. The park will be utterly devoid of ice.

If you want to see Glacier National Park with its glaciers intact, you should visit as soon as possible.

With each passing year, the glaciers are retreating and melting away all together.

This spectacular national treasure has been greatly impacted by climate change, but it’s still an incredible place to visit.

Driving along Going-to-the-Sun Road will give you amazing views of the landscape, while exploring the North Fork will take you into one of the least crowded sections of the park.

This is one bucket-list trip you shouldn't put off for long.
