Hike Through The Great Smoky Mountains On This Unforgettable Mountain Trail
If you’ve never experienced the Great Smoky Mountains of the southeastern United States, there’s a trail that will showcase their uniqueness in the best way possible. Head to Great Smoky Mountain National Park and look for the Chimney Tops Trail, a challenging yet incredibly rewarding trek that promises some astounding views.

Just outside of the small town of Gatlinburg, Tennessee awaits one of the most beloved treks in all of Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The trek comes with a bit of a warning, though, as it's rated difficult. Measuring 3.6 miles roundtrip, the trail takes hikers nearly 1,300 feet upwards. The good news is that the views will be well worth the effort.

Chimney Tops Trail is named for the distinctive chimney-like mountain peaks in the area. Reaching the rocky pinnacle overlook at the top, you'll truly feel as though you've arrived at the top of the world. The last mile of the hike is the most challenging and can prove to be a muddy scramble if there's been recent rainfall. Wear appropriate shoes and be sure to tread carefully!
