America's Largest House Has Been Transformed Into A Glittering Christmas Wonderland
America’s largest house takes decking the halls to a whole new level.
If you’ve never been to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina, you’ve been missing out on a huge dose of glitz and glamor. And there’s no better time to visit than the holidays.

Asheville may be a small town, but it’s home to the largest house in the country. The Biltmore Estate was built by the legendary George Vanderbilt in 1889 and features 35 bedrooms, 43 bathrooms, and 65 fireplaces. It’s spread out over 8.000 acres, which is actually less than the estate’s original 125,000 of land.

During the holidays, this mansion transforms into a glittering wonderland. A 55-foot Norway spruce adorns the "front yard," and it’s surrounded by 35 more sparkling evergreens. The theme this year is "The Art of Christmas," which is definitely reflected in the nearly 200,000 lights that decorate the estate during the festive season.

Heading inside, you’ll find a kingly 35-foot Fraser fir tree that rules over 58 other Christmas trees scattered throughout the house. Don’t forget the 3,000 handmade bows, the 7,000 gold and champagne ornaments, and the spectacular Antler Hill Village that’s perfect for a holiday stroll.
You’ll want to visit the Biltmore Estate by Jan. 6 to catch the holiday decorations. You can find the Biltmore Estate at 1 Lodge St., Asheville, NC. Click here to check out their website and plan your trip.
