1. California Poppy Festival in Lancaster, California - April 21-22

The Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce hosts the event each year to celebrate the awakening of springtime on the island. The festival includes activities for all ages, including a daffy hat contest, best costumes, a children's parade, the famous Sonset tailgate picnic, and more.
Perhaps the most beloved event is the antique car parade, most of which arrive decorated in daffodil finery. The original car parade began here in the 1970s, and the tradition has carried on ever since.
The scenery here in Nantucket during the daffodil season is nothing short of breathtaking, and locals add to the beauty by tending their gardens ablaze with this cheery bloom. The 44th annual Community Daffodil Flower Show, approved by the American Daffodil Society, will be held here as well.
3. Skagit Valley Tulip Festival in Mt. Vernon, Washington - throughout April
The assortment of colors and rows of the gorgeous flowers attract such interest that the tulip festival now runs the entire month of April. There are festival activities, celebrations, art exhibits and foodfests planned each day.
Events are spread throughout the coastal communities of LaConner and Anacortes, through Mt. Vernon and Sedro-Woolley eastward to Concrete. the area is about 60 miles north of Seattle. Visitors can visit elaborate show gardens like RoozenGaarde and Tulip Town, that feature elaborate displays and natural beauty.
Visiting the tulip fields is a must while here as well. Expect a number of festival activities including street fairs, fun runs, wine and music, and kid areas.
