A Truly Unique Hotel Is Opening On The East Coast And You'll Want To Stay The Night

To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Beer lovers on the East Coast are in for a treat. Maine’s largest brewery, Shipyard, has just pitched a plan to build a beer-themed hotel in Portland.
This $65 million redevelopment plan would create a “brewtel” on the site of Shipyard’s existing brewery and tasting room. Additionally, the plan calls for a nine-unit residential building, an office building, and a four-story parking garage.
The hotel itself looks like it would be a real hit with craft brew fans. With 105 rooms and a ground floor tasting room, this place would have plenty of room for the growing “beer tourism” crowd. Other cool amenities include a dedicated brewing TV channel, tours of the brewery, and even the ability to order a keg via room service.
Other beer-themed hotels have already opened in places Portland, Oregon and Columbus, Ohio. This would be one of the first brewery inspired hotels to open on the East Coast. The Shipyard plan is still pending approval from the city of Portland, but it sounds like a winner.
