Located just southeast of Brenham, Chappell Hill is the picture of small-town Texas. From the friendly locals to the quaint business lining the streets of downtown, this close-knit community of around 600 immediately captures the hearts of all who visit it.
One of these charming businesses is Chappell Hill Bakery & Deli, a family-run establishment outfitted to look like an old-fashioned general store. Upon stepping inside, you'll be met with smiling faces and mouthwatering aromas coming from the kitchen.
While the bakery offers all sorts of decadent treats (if you don't believe us, just take a look at the dessert cases!), none are more famous than the fruit kolaches.
Often called the best kolaches in Texas, these authentic Czech pastries are baked fresh daily and taste just like heaven. There are many different flavors to choose from, so no matter what your favorite fruit is, you can bet it's on the menu.
The restaurant is also known for its sausage kolaches, traditionally called klobasneks. Order a few along with your fruit kolaches for the perfect balance of sweet and savory!
