There isn’t much we Texans are picky about, but fast food is a definite exception — if it’s not Whataburger, we’re not interested. Our favorite drive-thru is debuting its first-ever food truck next year, and it will traverse the state in search of hungry patrons.
Ever since it first opened in Corpus Christi seven decades ago, Whataburger has been the preferred fast food joint of many Texans. Its iconic striped roofs can be seen a mile away, beckoning drivers to come and indulge in the quintessential fare.
Innovation knows no bounds at the popular drive-thru, as evidenced by its newest idea: a roaming food truck. Unveiled last week, the orange-and-white restaurant on wheels is set to begin its multistate tour in 2021.
The 36-foot long mobile eatery is powered by a 30,000-watt generator. With a whopping eight yards of cooking space, "Texas-sized" is the only applicable description.
With as much burger-flipping power as a brick-and-mortar Whataburger restaurant, rest assured the truck can whip up all your favorite menu items. From celebrated classics to limited edition specials, the deliciousness will sweep the nation.
From chicken strip sandwiches to patty melts to breakfast, there's something for everyone. Add a side of fries and thirst-quenching soft drink for a meal you'll never forget.
Almost as notable as the mouthwatering food at Whataburger is their impeccable service. Always with a smile, friendly employees are eager to dish out the time-honored recipes we all know and love.
The truck will traverse the country, stopping in states and cities with existing Whataburger franchises. That means Texas is due for a lengthy visit, as about 80% of all the stores in the U.S. are located here.
