Video games have played a role in all of our lives, no matter how small. Whether it was Zelda on the Nintendo 64 back in the day, Crash Bandicoot on the GameBoy, or something more modern, we’ve all enjoyed escaping into a virtual world and being someone else for a while.
One restaurant in Texas combines food and gaming for a unique experience you won’t find anywhere else. That place is Nerdvana in Frisco, and it’s an absolute must-visit whether you’re a hardcore gamer or not.
Located on the corner of an unassuming strip center in Downtown Frisco, nobody would ever expect this boring brick building to be harboring such a unique place. Gamer or not, you'll appreciate the incredible innovation that went into Nerdvana.
Each booth is equipped with a gaming console and four controllers, so the whole family can play while waiting for your food to arrive. No need to bring a tablet to keep the kids occupied!
From classics like Mario Kart and Donkey Kong to the newest, most popular shoot-em-ups, there's a game to suit everyone's preferences. The best part? Sitting only inches away from the action and sharing the experience with those you love most.
If all you're in the mood for is a drink, you can still join in the fun! Nerdvana's bar has gaming systems as well - just don't get too tipsy, or else you might mix up the buttons on your controller and come in last place.
Art and gaming go hand-in-hand. Nerds are some of the most creative people on the planet, and evidence of that is plastered all over the restaurant. How neat is this wall? Can you spot any of your favorite characters?
Just because the food isn't the main attraction doesn't make it any less delicious. Everything is made-to-order with only the finest ingredients, so you can't go wrong. This is the chicken-fried steak medallions: topped with sausage-thyme gravy and served with mashed potatoes + freshly shucked corn on the cob, this is a leveled-up version of a Southern staple.
Sugar is the best 1-up we know of when energy is running low, so why not end the night with some dessert? Cheesecake, banana pudding, s'mores mousse, and giant skillet cookie are just some of the scrumptious options on the menu.
Whether you won or lost, a little booze is sure to lift your spirits - especially when it looks like this. The "Bad Ass Boss Monster," this alcoholic milkshake is loaded with either chocolate or vanilla ice cream and topped with brownie chunks + chocolate-covered strawberries and bananas. Multiple players are encouraged when tackling this beast!
Nerdvana also has a coffee shop located next door! If you get tired of looking at a screen, pop in and play from a huge selection of board games. See one you like? Buy it to add to your own library.
If you need a change-of-pace in the restaurant arena, head to Nerdvana and plug in. Refill your XP with some mouthwatering grub and battle the night away on all your favorite games.
