Bookstore cafes are cool, but a bookstore speakeasy in Texas? That’s what I’m talking about. Blackbird Books & Spirits in Belton is hidden behind a painting in a historic building, and it’s where bookworms and craft cocktail aficionados (and those who fall into both camps!) come together to laugh, read, drink, eat, and have an overall great time.
If you want more Texas restaurants, make sure to sign up for our weekly dining newsletter. Every Thursday, a new eatery to try in the Lone Star State will be delivered straight to your email. Yum!
Visit the Blackbird Books & Spirits Facebook page for more information about the speakeasy, including current hours of operation and a schedule of upcoming events (such as trivia nights).
Have you visited this bookstore speakeasy in Texas yet? If so, we’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments section.
Don’t forget to check out our previous article for a little-known waterfall hike in Belton that will make you swear you aren’t in Texas anymore. In need of some hiking gear? REI has you covered with everything from shoes to backpacks.
