Here in Texas, spicy and Mexican are two of our favorite types of food. Big Poppa’s Tacos, a restaurant in San Antonio, decided to combine the two and create an epic flavor explosion that will have your taste buds begging for more. What we’re talking about is a Hot Cheeto Burrito – that’s right, the beefy, cheesy goodness of a burrito and the delicious crunchy heat of Hot Cheetos all rolled up in one. If that sounds like heaven to you, it’s because it is.
Long before hot cheetos were all the rage, owner Jacob Gomez has been spicing up his menu with them. His newest creation? The Hot Cheeto Burrito.
Yeah, it's as amazing as it sounds. A tortilla hot off the skillet is topped with rice, refried beans, three kinds of cheese, carne asada, and the fiery, crunchy chips before being rolled up and wrapped in tin foil.
While the cheetos are certainly the star of the show, the dish wouldn't be nearly as delicious if it weren't for Gomez's authentic home-cooking. Things like orange soda marinated pastor, nachos, and tortas offer unique twists on traditional Mexican favorites for a culinary experience like none you've ever had. Hot chips also make an appearance on the Hood Rat Burger, with pastor, ham, queso, lettuce, and tomato, and the Hot Cheeto Quesadilla.
Can we all just take a second to appreciate that cheese pull? If this doesn't entice you enough to hop right in the car and head on over, I'm not sure what will.
For more information about the burrito and the restaurant in general, check out their Facebookpage. The address is 2118 I-35 Frontage Road, San Antonio, TX 78208.
