Every adventure starts with a single step. And then another, and another, until you find yourself somewhere new and undiscovered. That’s the journey of a writer. You never know where the next word will take you. Hopefully, together, we can experience some amazing new adventures at OnlyInYourState.
The Barton Creek Greenbelt Trail in Austin, Texas will reward you with two waterfalls and refreshing swimming areas to cool off after your hike. It’s one of the best waterfall hikes in Texas.
Along this 3.2-mile out-and-back trail you’ll enjoy views of Barton Creek, interesting rock formations, small caves, and maybe if you are lucky some cute little lizard friends to guide you to your ultimate destination – Twin Falls and Sculpture Falls.
After your day trip to the falls, we have another refreshing stop in mind that locals will tell you is a great place to enjoy a treat and a story about your hiking adventures.
Along the Barton Creek Greenbelt Trail, you’ll hike through nicely shaded wooded areas over sometimes rocky terrain. Nothing too difficult, just plenty of fun for you “rock hoppers” out there.
You’ll most likely spot one of the trails’ key features. This man-made (maybe it was even created by fairies…) stick tee-pee is a fun stop for kids to explore and wonder about what enchanted creature lives there.
You’ll hit Twin Falls about a half mile from the trailhead and Sculpture Falls about a mile further down the trail. Each one offers a cool place to slip in and enjoy a swim if you so desire.
Dogs are welcome if they are on a leash so bring them along and watch them swim and frolic to their heart's content.
JuiceLand is a local spot to rest those weary feet while enjoying a gourmet juice, protein shake, a beautiful and delicious smoothie bowl, or even plant-based homemade vegan meals.
All food and beverage ingredients are locally sourced near the Austin area. If you dig sustainable, local, and organic foodie joints there will definitely be something you’ll love at JuiceLand.
