Treehouses are a classic example of boundless childhood imagination—but they aren’t just for kids. There’s a treehouse village hiding in the small Texas town of Utopia, and it offers a whimsically enchanting getaway for the inner child that lingers in us all. If you’re in search of a magical escape, look no further than Treehouse Utopia.
Welcome to Treehouse Utopia, an enchanting retreat nestled along the banks of the Sabinal River.
It features four treehouses, each one with its own unique theme, but all perched high in an ancient bald cypress forest. This luxurious treehouse village is a collaboration between Pete Nelson, of Nelson Treehouse and Supply, and Laurel Waters, chef and owner of the nearby Laurel Tree Restaurant.
Each treehouse accommodates two guests, making for a perfect romantic getaway.
They all feature a bedroom, sitting room, full bathroom with tile shower, and air conditioning/heating, so you'll enjoy modern luxuries despite being miles away from the city. Please note that no children under 18 are allowed.

If whimsy is your cup of tea, look no further than Carousel.
The magic begins before you even step inside, with a tiered staircase leading up to the entrance. Bright colors evoke a warm, cheerful vibe that makes your heart feel light.

As its name suggests, this treehouse features an actual merry-go-round horse.
Harkening back to the carefree nature of childhood, this vintage relic encourages guests to let go—at least for the duration of their stay—and revel in the simple things. This horse isn't the only wildlife you'll encounter! Native birds and other critters bound through the undisturbed landscape, and binoculars are provided for your viewing pleasure.
It's the only treehouse that spans two stories, and the luscious, king-size bed promises to make you feel like royalty. There's also a massive outdoor deck with a cozy lounge area.
Nightly rates are $525 for the Chateau and $475 for all three other treehouses. A two-night minimum stay is required.
Reservations can be made online, or by calling (830)-966-8733.
