As children, we all wanted our lives to be like Disney princes and princesses: living undisturbed in a little cottage, not having a care in the world and floating through live as though it were a dream. Although that may not be a feasible option every single day, there’s a place in Texas where fantasy becomes reality for the duration of your stay – that place is Treehouse Utopia in the tiny town of Utopia, located 80 miles northwest of San Antonio.
With four treehouses nestled high up amidst the tops of 800 year-old cypress trees, it truly doesn’t get any more perfect than this.
Inspired by countryside French chapels, this treehouse is absolutely breathtaking. It's the fruit of owner Laurel Water's time in France for culinary school.
She studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, and much of the decor in the homes comes from there. You'll see hand-carved bed frames, carousel horses, and more amazing relics.
The bedroom in "Chapelle" is definitely tiny, but in a homey and comforting way. With a ceiling not much taller than you, the space is almost reminiscent of a cozy cottage from a Disney movie.
You could easily spend all day relaxing in this elegant bathroom. Between the stained-glass windowpane, claw foot tub, and Renaissance-era painting, it's the perfect place to relax with a glass of wine and good book in hand.
Nestled among three gigantic cypress trees estimated to be about 800 years old, a Tarzan-esque vibe permeates every inch of the walls and envelops you in a blanket of warmth and safety.
The wood used to built this home is a mixture of Californian Douglass Fir, Alaskan Western Red Cedar, and local cedar. The resulting blend is a rustic light brown that makes you think of a sprawling ranch house.
As its name implies, "Biblioteque" is a mini library, giving off a mystical feel with its never-ending staircase and dim lighting emanating from its many windows.
Every book lover's dream lies within these four walls. What else are you to do but immerse yourself in a murder mystery or classic novel with nothing but time on your hands? Plus, being in complete solitude among the treetops enhances any reading experience tenfold.
Lastly, we have "Carousel." Resting in the arms of a single cypress tree, it's the baby of the pack and is said to remind guests of vibrancy and youth.
Located right on the water, it grants you immediate access to the Hill Country beauty surrounding it while remaining a stable fortress to return to when night falls. Not to mention all the adorable decor sure to make you feel right at home.
