We Texans have our favorite restaurants, but sometimes it’s nice to give new places a try – especially when they put a unique twist on classic dishes. Amacate Tortilla Bar in Beaumont serves up some of the most unique tacos, enchiladas, and desserts (think churro ice cream sandwiches) you’ve ever tasted, and you’ll definitely want to experience these mind-blowing flavor combos that simply don’t exist anywhere else.
As much as we love our Tex-Mex, there's something to be said about authenticity. Amacate serves up a true taste of Mexico with homemade recipes inspired by the owners' heritage.
Known for their unique tacos, Amacate offers over a dozen different varieties with pork belly, crab, lobster, and all sorts of other delicious meats, sauces, and toppings.
There are plenty of veggie options as well. On the left is the Nopalitos, which is cactus. Don't knock it 'till ya try it - it's actually delicious, especially paired with onion, avocado, tomato, and fresh cilantro.
If tacos aren't your thing, don't fret - the enchiladas are just as scrumptious. Choose between chicken, beef, and cheese, and enjoy them covered in sauce, sour cream, onion, queso, and served with either beans or rice.
Let's not forget about the beverages! Nothing complements Mexican food better than a cocktail, and the refreshing options available here are sure to satisfy.
Make sure to save some room for dessert. The churros come with either chocolate, dulce de leche, or strawberry dipping sauce, or you can enjoy them as a sandwich with ice cream in the middle. Who else's mouth is watering right about now?
Amacate is located at 7150 Eastex Fwy, Beaumont, TX 77708.
