Today, Katie writes, edits, and performs several other tasks for OnlyInYourState and has never been more passionate about a job before. Outside of work, you can likely find her curled up on with a hot cup of coffee, practicing yoga, baking, or exploring the beautiful Lone Star State (in particular, the vast and mystical West Texas desert).
Supporting our local small businesses has never been more important, and H-E-B is making it easy to do just that. The grocery store recently launched a new initiative in Houston, San Antonio, and Austin that involves selling to-go meals from area restaurants whose dining rooms have, of course, been forced to close amidst the pandemic. Participating eateries include Underbelly, Max & Louie’s New York Diner, and Fresa’s Chicken al Carbon, and the effort may continue to expand if it proves successful.
Craving a thick New York bagel while confined to your house? No worries -- San Antonio residents can enjoy takeout meals from Max & Louie's Diner at our beloved H-E-B. The restaurant is continuing to serve the local community with its all-day breakfasts, overstuffed sandwiches, and more of your favorite comfort foods to make quarantine easier.
It's almost impossible to fit your mouth around these mile-high sandwiches with corned beef, pastrami, and all the other usual suspects. There's definitely no skimping going on here!
You'll find Max and Louie's at these San Antonio H-E-B locations: 1150 North Loop 1604 West,9238 North Loop 1604 West, 8503 Northwest Military Highway, and15000 San Pedro Avenue.
Rosario's Mexican Cafe y Cantina, a lively chain local to San Antonio, serves authentic Mexican food plus a vast array of nontraditional items. Bring home their enchiladas, tacos, and other scrumptious offerings to give your taste buds a warm hug during these difficult times.
Rosario's will be selling meals in the following storefronts: 999 East Basse Road,
12777 West I-10,
8503 Northwest Military Highway, and
9900 Wurzbach Road.
Fresa's Chicken al Carbon is offering kale caesar salad and agave-lime chicken with either Mexican rice, brussels sprouts, and pasilla aioli; or sweet potatoes, black beans, and poblano ranch. You can find them at these locations: 12400 West Highway 71, 2400 South Congress Avenue,
7015 Village Center Drive, 1801 East 51st Street,
1000 East 41st Street, and 5800 West Slaughter Lane. Ramen Tatsu-ya and Picnik will be joining the lineup soon!
Heading into Space City, H-E-B is stocking meals from three popular eateries. From Cherry Block, dishes like such as gumbo, red beans and rice with andouille sausage, smoked catfish dip, pimento cheese, and braised short rib with cheese grits taste just as good as if you were dining-in.
Underbelly's takeout menu features many of its bestselling items like Korean braised beef and dumplings, waygu helper, King Ranch casserole, chicken tenders with mac and cheese, and tater tot and bacon sausage casserole. Brennan's has recently become a contributing establishment, cooking up huge batches of their legendary turtle soup.
