The old adage “good things come in small packages” definitely applies to Peacock’s Restaurant. This cozy, unassuming diner is classic Americana at its finest, with hearty, home-cooked fare (including all-day breakfast!), friendly service, and a nostalgic vibe that harkens back to simpler times. It’s one of the best restaurants in Stephenville, Texas, and you’ll never forget a meal there.

The age of the all-American diner lives on, and Peacock's, a family-owned restaurant in Stephenville, is proof of that.
Stephenville has a population of just 21,000, yet there are two Peacock's locations in town. That's how you know it's a great place to eat! Peppered with nostalgic décor and oozing old-school vibes, this unassuming joint will whisk you back to yesteryear.
Take a second to peruse the historic photographs hanging proudly on the walls. They tell the long and fascinating history of Peacock's, which first opened over 50 years ago in 1973.
The original Peacock's restaurant (located on West South Loop) is open 24/7 and serves breakfast all day (and night) long. Among the offerings include such classic favorites as omelets, biscuits and gravy, steak and eggs, and so much more.
If you're in the mood for something on the sweeter side, you can't go wrong with a waffle. Top yours with strawberries or blueberries for a burst of fruity flavor in every bite, or add pecans for a nutty crunch. Pancakes are also available.
Personally, I love a sweet and savory combo. If you agree, opt for the restaurant's waffle sandwich, which features a fried egg, cheddar cheese, and either ham, bacon, or sausage. Pro-tip: dip it in maple syrup!
Visit the Peacock’s Facebook page for more information about the restaurant, including current hours of operation.
