Day Out With Thomas: Themed Train Ride In Grapevine, Texas

Choo-choo! Thomas the Tank Engine is chugging into the Grapevine Vintage Railroad in Texas this fall, and if you have little ones, it’s a can’t-miss event. The Day Out with Thomas train ride is only here for two weekends in October, so be sure to snag tickets as soon as you can. Guests enjoy seven hours of fun-filled activities, including a ride on a real Thomas the Tank Engine coach, meet-and-greets with familiar faces from the TV show, and more.

It's always a good time on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad. Various themed train rides are offered all year, and the historic, 1920s coaches provide an authentic experience that will whisk you back to the heyday of the locomotive era.

Most of the excursions are family-friendly, but kids especially love the annual Day Out with Thomas ride inspired by the British kid's TV show "Thomas & Friends."

This highly anticipated event lets passengers climb aboard a real-life Thomas the Tank Engine coach. Not only that, but the day is also jam-packed with other activities such as live entertainment and arts and crafts.

Guests will get the rare opportunity to meet Sir Topham Hatt and create memories that are guaranteed to last a lifetime. Don't forget to bring a high-quality camera along for the ride because you'll want to document the trip from start to finish.

The ride lasts from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. That gives you seven full hours to escape into a storybook world of childhood whimsy, and I promise both kids and adults will have a great time.
