What’s your favorite story by the great Edgar Allan Poe? Personally, mine is “The Raven” – you can’t go wrong with a classic! If you’re a Poe fan at all, you can’t miss the Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy in Texas. The event is coming to several cities in the Lone Star State in May and June and features an immersive cocktail experience that blends expertly-crafted, themed beverages with some of Poe’s most iconic works.
If you're a fan of the works of Edgar Allan Poe, then you'll definitely want to listen up.
A 4-part cocktail experience known as the Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy is coming to Texas, promising to bring four of the late author's most famous tales “off the page and onto the stage.”
The event will be held in Austin May 25-27, El Paso June 1-3, Fort Worth June 8-10, Houston June 14-17, and San Antonio June 22-24. General admission is $55 per person and includes entry to the event and four signature cocktails.
Each story is paired with a themed cocktail designed by an expert mixologist, making for a truly immersive experience that captivates your every sense.
Sip your drinks as talented historians use world-class acting and storytelling techniques to bring Poe's chilling, macabre world to life before your eyes.
Some of the featured cocktails include the "Pale Blue Eye," which is made with blueberry vodka, the "Raventini," which includes citrus vodka and blackberry liquor, and "Edgar's Twisted Brandy Milk Punch" with Kentucky Bourbon, French Brandy, and vanilla cream.
Please note: the drink pictured here is not one of the beverages served at the show, but you can learn more about those cocktails on the Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy website (a link can be found at the end of the article).
The experience lasts roughly 1.5 hours, and several time slots are available. All guests must be at least 21 years of age with valid ID. Visit the Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy website for more information about the event, including precise locations for each city, and to purchase tickets.
