We all know about the TeePee Motel in Wharton, but not many are aware there’s also a campground with a similar theme here in Texas. The Geronimo Creek Retreat in Seguin is the perfect end-of-summer getaway for the whole family. With modern-day amenities and plenty of outdoor activities (including fire pits for s’mores!), it’s the perfect balance between comfort and roughing it.
Five tepees are tucked away in the back of the property surrounding a sapphire-blue stock tank. They look traditional and unassuming at first glance, but you'll be amazed at the modern luxuries that await as soon as you open the door.
It's hard to beat this incredible view. A picnic table, wicker furniture, and charcoal grill located right outside each room allow you to take in the spectacular panoramic vistas of the Hill Country with all the hotel amenities you're accustomed to just steps away.
Depending on which teepee you choose, four to six people can sleep comfortably. Three units have three queen beds and a couch while the others have two queen beds and a pull out couch. You'll also enjoy a private bathroom with fully-tiled shower!
A kitchenette with a mini fridge, electric cook-top, microwave, coffee maker, silverware , and cookware is provided. Whip up your favorite meal and stay cozy inside or have dinner around the fire pit underneath the stars. This is glamping done right, y'all.
Each tepee also comes with A/C, Direct TV, and WiFi. Although camping trips are supposed to be a time to fully unplug, obligations demand otherwise sometimes - it's nice to at least have the option should it become necessary.
It wouldn't be a Hill Country getaway without spending some time outdoors. Guests receive access to the private Geronimo Creek, where you can kayak, paddle-board, rope swing, or just kick back in a hammock and bask in the sunshine.
A common area/game room has a large satellite TV, foosball and ping pong tables, and a hot tub, volleyball court, cornhole, and horse shoes outside. The four-acre property is full of fun activities for the whole family!
