Summer wouldn’t be quite the same without at least one waterpark trip, and it doesn’t get much better than Schlitterbahn Galveston. Home to the world’s tallest water coaster, this epic getaway will make your season unforgettable.
Schlitterbahn Galveston is among the most frequented summer destinations in Texas, and for good reason. With tons of attractions both thrilling and family friendly, this iconic water park definitely deserves a spot on your bucket list.
All the slides are amazing in their own right, but one stands out among the crowd. Aptly named "Massiv," this mind-bending monolith is not only the tallest water coaster in Texas, but on the entirety of planet Earth.
Certified by Guinness World Records, Massiv stands at a whopping 81 feet tall. The nervous excitement that builds as you climb 123 steps to the top will surely leave your palms sweating.
The heart-pounding anticipation comes to a head as you board the raft and wait for takeoff. 3...2..1...the lifeguard counts down, sending all sorts of conflicting emotions through your head right before the big plunge.
Giddy exhilaration is the only feeling left once the journey officially commences. Prepare to twist, turn, drop, and splash for 926 feet -- that's nearly the length of three football fields!
Finally, you'll race through a dazzling light show before soaring down a series of three drops and into a landing pool. No matter how terrified you were initially, rest-assured you'll get right back in line for round two.
Other popular attractions at Schlitterbahn Galveston include the indoor wave river, the "Boogie Bahn" surf simulator, and a variety of additional slides. What will you do first?
