Katie Lawrence is a Southeast Texas native who graduated 18th in her high school class with a GPA of 4.25. She attended college in the Houston area and began writing for OnlyInYourState in 2015.
Today, Katie writes, edits, and performs several other tasks for OnlyInYourState and has never been more passionate about a job before. Outside of work, you can likely find her curled up on with a hot cup of coffee, practicing yoga, baking, or exploring the beautiful Lone Star State (in particular, the vast and mystical West Texas desert).
As a lifelong resident of the Lone Star State, I can say with 100% certainty that I have firm roots in Texas. After all, what’s not to love about this incredible place we call home? We produced the best soda (Dr Pepper) and ice cream (Blue Bell) known to man, we’re the birthplace of the best gas station on earth (Buc-ee’s), and we have more Southern hospitality than you can shake a stick at…and the list goes on. If you’re just as proud to be a Texan as I am, check out this list of 11 surefire signs you have strong roots in Texas. I can relate to all of these – what about you?
