Have you ever dreamt of zooming around a racetrack in a Ferrari or McLaren? Well, you can do just that with DriveXotic at Motorsport Ranch in Cresson. You’ll reach top speeds of over 100 miles per hour and feel like a professional NASCAR driver.
Just south of Fort Worth in Cresson, DriveXotic allows visitors to get behind the wheel of luxury sports cars. The track is 1.3 miles long and features 12 turns, an elevation change of 70 feet, and a 1/4-mile straightaway on which speeds can top 100 miles per hour.
Here's how it works. Upon arriving at Motorsport Ranch, you'll check in, sign a waiver, and head to the classroom for step-by-step instruction on how to operate a high-performance vehicle. You'll learn the differences between racetrack and street driving, plus advanced techniques that'll give you an upper hand on the road.
Do you feel that? It's your heart pounding with excitement because your drive is about to begin. With an instructor in the passenger seat, you'll whiz around the track for either four or seven laps.
From a McLaren 720 to Ferrari 458 Italia, the cars are the finest, most sleek rides on the market. With each passing mile, you'll feel as if you're soaring through the air.
While you're driving, two cameras are busy recording the entire time -- one facing you, the other pointed towards the road. Once back at the starting line, you'll get to watch every hair-raising second of the video, which has been overlaid with data from your session.
Not quite ready to man the driver's seat? Opt for the "Thrill Ride" experience, where an instructor takes the wheel as you sit back and revel in the exhilaration. Passengers must be at least 13 years old.
You'll be hard-pressed to find a safer opportunity to drive a luxury sports vehicle this fast. The g-force, hard braking zones, and chances to lay on the accelerator are simply unparalleled.
