Outside of work, you can likely find her curled up on with a hot cup of coffee, practicing yoga, baking, or exploring the beautiful Lone Star State (in particular, the vast and mystical West Texas desert).
Enjoying our favorite activities might look a little different right now, but luckily, certain things are easily adaptable — like trains! The historic Grapevine Vintage Railroad is limiting its passenger capacity so guests can still ride the rails and marvel at breathtaking scenery in a safe manner.
Located in the heart of Historic Downtown Grapevine, the Grapevine Vintage Railroad offers an unforgettable journey on authentic 1920s Victorian coaches. With incredible scenery and themed events year-round, the whole family is sure to enjoy the ride.
Passengers have several excursions to choose from, including the popular one-hour trip. It runs on Saturday mornings, leaving from and returning to the depot.
In the mood for a trip to the Stockyards? Hop on the Cotton Belt Route and head straight there to watch the iconic cattle drive. Additionally, the Trinity River Train Excursion goes from the Stockyards to south Fort Worth and back.
All ages are welcome on the train, save for select events featuring alcoholic beverages. Ticket prices range from $10-$26 depending on the excursion and class you choose, and children 12 months or younger ride free.
The caboose is perfect for social distancing! Breathe fresh air while taking in the beautiful surroundings, seated plenty far away from other passengers.
Open-air cars not only allow for better ventilation, but also provide unadulterated vistas of the Grapevine landscape -- without so much as a window obstructing your view. You can visit the railroad's website for specifics on the precautions being taken.
Special events include a Thomas the Tank Engine ride for kids, wine and beer trains for adults, several holiday excursions, and so much more. Details can be found on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad website.
