Did you know that, just half an hour from the hustle and bustle of the Houston metro, there’s a charming waterfront town where things are still simple? Kemah, Texas is a family-friendly destination with a boardwalk that features tons of rides and games, a quaint town square brimming with shops and restaurants, and a relaxed, easygoing lifestyle. It’s one of the best day trips in Texas you can possibly take!
Next time you find yourself in the Houston area, don't head home on I-10. Instead, take a detour on State Highway 146 to Kemah, a quaint waterfront town just 30 minutes from Space City.
Whether you're in the market for homemade fudge or a beautiful flower arrangement, this walkable town square has something to delight your every sense.
One of the most legendary restaurants is T-Bone Tom's, a local favorite for down-home classics since 1974. Don't miss their iconic "World Famous" Trike sandwich topped with a pork rib!
While you're here visiting one of our favorite TX small towns, make sure to slow down and soak up the views with one of many binoculars on the boardwalk.
There's always something fun to get into here at one of the best small towns in Texas!
