We all have fond childhood memories of running along the beach, pail in hand, intently searching the sand for seashells to collect and bring home with us. Luckily, there’s a place right here in Texas where we can relive those cherished times this summer. Big Shell Beach in Corpus Christi is absolutely teeming with gorgeous, pristine shells, and you’ll definitely want to visit as soon as possible.
From Padre Island National Seashore, you'll drive exactly 25 miles south until you reach Little Shell Beach. Keep going for just a few more miles until you see the sign for Big Shell.
More shells than you could ever imagine are scattered across the sand. Apparently it's the work of a convergence of ocean currents that wash up millions of the little jewels - all different shapes, sizes, and colors of them.
The currents even polish the shells and give them a smooth, clean finish. All the treasures you take home will be ready to display on your windowsill or wherever else you choose to place them.
Here's just a small taste of what you can find on the beach. Not only gorgeous, pristine shells but also entire bird skulls and fish bones! You never know what hidden gems are waiting to be uncovered.
