There’s a short hike in Big Bend National Park that offers incredible views. The Santa Elena Canyon Trail winds itself along until meeting up with the Terlingua Creek at the base of 1,500-foot vertical limestone cliffs. This short but sweet hike should be on everyone’s bucket list, as it’s one of the best hiking trails in the U.S.

Take your shoes off so you don’t lose them and wade through. There’s a spot at the end of the trail that’s perfect for rinsing off, so you won’t be muddy for long.
