Of all the train rides offered in Texas, we’ve stumbled upon one that stands out above all the rest. Loved by locals and a pleasant surprise to tourists, the San Antonio Zoo Eagle takes a scenic route along the breathtaking San Antonio River. It’s an unforgettable experience all ages are sure to enjoy, so hop on board, relax, and take in the views.
The San Antonio Zoo Eagle, formerly known as the Brackenridge Eagle, has been a family favorite attraction in the Alamo City since 1956.
Although it's technically part of the zoo, the train doesn't just take passengers on a tour of the animal habitats - it winds through one of downtown San Antonio's most popular parks.
Brackenridge Park is a 343-acre public space on the city's Broadway Corridor, paralleling the iconic San Antonio River.
It encompasses such famous attractions as the San Antonio Zoo, Witte Museum, Japanese Tea Gardens and Sunken Garden Theater, Tuesday Musical Club, and First Tee of San Antonio. The park also features multiple baseball fields, playgrounds, pavilions, and walking trails.
