With a vibrant Mexican culture that invigorates your every sense and a plethora of enticing restaurants and shops, it's easy to see why so many people flock to this lively destination.
You'll want to get here early, both to beat the inevitable midday heat and ensure ample time to sightsee to your heart's content. Head across the bridge spanning the river to enjoy 360-degree views and figure out where to go next.
As far as restaurants go, Casa Rio is a must. It was the first restaurant on the River Walk, serving up scrumptious Tex-Mex classics for over 70 years. You can't miss it -- just look for the colorful umbrella tables!
If ever your legs start to get tired, just hop on a gondola! Go Rio Cruises features 35-minute narrated rides that showcase the River Walk in all its glory while offering a San Antonio history lesson. You can also use the boat as a shuttle from place to place as you explore.
