Antique shops are known for having some quirky and eccentric finds, but Thompson’s Antique Center in Houston just might take the cake. It’s home to a salt-and-pepper shaker museum of sorts, with sets ranging from snowmen to sock monkeys and everything in-between. Take a look and get ready to spruce up your dining table:
Thompson's is the largest antique center in Texas, spanning a more than 100,000-square-foot warehouse. It's open seven days a week and boasts 17 aisles of unique items to sift through.
Nearly 200 vendors set up shop at any given time, offering everything from collectible coins to vintage furniture. You could easily spend hours perusing all the wares to find that perfect diamond-in-the-rough.
Enter a portal back to simpler times as you stroll down memory lane. Gas pumps from days of old encourage reminiscion on wide open roads, friendly townspeople, and family vacations.
This ridiculous selection of salt and pepper shakers is by far one of the most unique stalls. Whether you prefer animals, shoes, or something entirely different, rest-assured it can be found on at least one shelf.
You'll be amazed at the impeccable attention to detail. Several varieties of owls, birds, and just about everything else guarantee nobody leaves without the perfect set for their kitchen.
Prices are very reasonable, so you can stock up on several different shaker pairs. As changes in the seasons, holidays, and even your mood come to pass, you'll be prepared for the occasion with themed decor.
Have you ever seen the salt-and-pepper shaker collection at Thompson’s Antique Center? If so, what was the most interesting set on display? Let us know your thoughts.
