Tyler is home to not only the largest rose garden in Texas, but all of America. Every October, a festival honors the flower and its role in shaping the local economy. Complete with a parade, vendors, and all the breathtaking flora in full bloom, this is one celebration you won’t want to miss.
Texas Rose Festival is a three-day event held annually in late October. It celebrates the flower's integral role in the local economy and attracts thousands of tourists each year.
Festivities kick off at 10 a.m. on October 17 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Once the event has officially begun, roses will be on display for all to see from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
On Saturday, the highly-anticipated festival starts at 9 a.m. Decked out floats will make their way down the street, each one more ethereal than the last.
Everyone is on the edge of their seats waiting for the Rose Queen to make her grand appearance. For as little as $7, you can snag a front-row seat to the action.
The festival will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday and runs through 4 p.m. Sunday evening. Visit the official website or Facebook page to learn more.
