Jeeps are usually the first vehicles that come to mind when we think about safaris, but one Texas business has completely changed the game. Waco River Safari & Tours takes passengers on an enthralling journey down the Brazos River, offering both a relaxing float and unparalleled views of wildlife grazing along the shoreline. Check it out:
Waco River Safari operates on the beautiful Brazos River that shaped the town into the thriving community it is today. A knowledgeable tour guide will offer captivating stories about the area's natural history as you watch it unfold before your very eyes.
Two boats hold 16 and 40 people, respectively. Dinner is served on the evening cruise and consists of burgers + fries from Bubba's 33. There's also a BYOB policy, so feel free to turn the party up a few notches with your favorite adult beverage. Non-alcoholic options such as water, Dr. Pepper, and coffee are provided by the captain.
About midway down the river, a limestone outcropping towers majestically up into the clouds. Surrounded by lush greenery and pristine waters, it's the epitome of a picture-perfect sight.
Deer, snakes, and even alligators have been spotted grazing on the riverbanks. The boat gets close enough to give passengers a clear view without disrupting the animals' natural behavior. Don't forget to take plenty of pictures!
You'll pass directly underneath the famous Waco Suspension Bridge, which is even more breathtaking at dusk. Its silhouette stands out against the amber sky, creating a magical scene that will be forever etched into your memory.
Tours are two hours long but occasionally run about 15 minutes over. In the event of adverse weather conditions, a full refund will be issued to each customer.
