Today, Katie writes, edits, and performs several other tasks for OnlyInYourState and has never been more passionate about a job before. Outside of work, you can likely find her curled up on with a hot cup of coffee, practicing yoga, baking, or exploring the beautiful Lone Star State (in particular, the vast and mystical West Texas desert).
We all know Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Blitzen (and Rudolph, of course.) We can sing that entire song without missing a single note. No matter how much we age, the magic of Christmas brings out our inner child. Relive the joy and innocence of the holiday season by taking a look at the Double R Reindeer Ranch in Midlothian, an enchanting farm filled with Santa’s companions.
***Editor’s Note*** It was recently brought to our attention that the Double R Reindeer Ranch is not open to the public this year. We apologize for the inconvenience! Until they have another open house for the public, we’ll just have to enjoy this beautiful ranch from the comfort of our homes.
The reindeer are all purebred and registered with the Reindeer Owners and Breeders Association. Free from any chronic diseases, they're the only reindeer in Texas allowed to travel to other states for events.
You can rent them by the hour, for seasonal leases, commercials, and TV/movie work. Imagine being responsible for awakening the spirit of Christmas in "kids from one to 92" — a magical feeling, no doubt.
Double R's hardworking elves will custom-design a display for your event. A 2-hour minimum is required, and pricing is determined based on distance from the ranch.
Little ones will love getting up close and personal with the majestic creatures. They'll think Rudolph is standing right in front of them! There are few better sights than the joy of Christmas in a child.
If you plan your event just right, you could enjoy a white Christmas with the deer. How cool would it be to say you've seen Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Blitzen (oh, and Rudolph, of course) dashing through the snow?
