Not all pizza is created equally, and Dough Pizzeria Napoletana is a prime example of that fact. Serving up some of the best pizza in Texas, this unique eatery pays homage to the Italian city of Naples by cooking its pies at a whopping 900 degrees in a traditional wood-fired oven. The result couldn’t be more different than the pizza from your local carryout joint (and that’s a good thing).

If you're skeptical of a strip center pizza joint, we hear you - but trust us one this one. Dough Pizzeria Napoletana has some of the best pizza not only in Texas, but the entire country.
With two locations in San Antonio and one in Plano, Dough Pizzeria combines modernity with rusticism for a distinct ambiance you won't find anywhere else. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available.
As for the menu, it doesn't get much more authentic than this. Perhaps you'll start with an appetizer - how does a charcuterie board with artisanal meats and cheeses, olives, and other savory, shareable bites sound?
The pizza is cooked in traditional Neapolitan fashion. Two wood-burning ovens, both imported from Italy, cook the pizzas in just 90 seconds at a temperature of 900 degrees.
Simplicity is key when it comes to a Neapolitan pizza. There are only three different kinds to choose from, all with minimal ingredients: Margherita (featuring fior di latte cheese), Vera Margherita (with Buffalo mozzarella), and (which has garlic, oregano, and pecorino).
Not overloading the pizza with toppings lets the robust flavors of local, farm-fresh ingredients shine through. For example, the restaurant even makes its own mozzarella! If you do prefer a bit more pizzazz, however, there are several toppings you can add to your pie. Additionally, Dough Pizzeria offers American-style pizzas.
The American pies feature everything from prosciutto and arugula to house-made sausage and caramelized onions. Such unique and complex flavor combinations, and they work in perfect harmony.
Though admittedly hard to do, at least try to pace yourself so you have room for dessert. The selections are sinfully delicious, ranging from tiramisu to gelato to panna cotta. Pair your sweet treat with an espresso for maximum enjoyment!
