Petting zoos and train rides are both pretty epic activities, so combining them makes for a truly unforgettable experience. Wonder World Cave and Adventure Park in San Marcos offers precisely this unique adventure, allowing passengers to interact with and even feed deer, miniature horses, and several other adorable critters while on-board.
Wonder World Park is home to the world's first-ever show cave, affording visitors firsthand access to a vast underground landscape for over 105 years. This is the only earthquake-formed cave in the entire nation!
One of the park's most popular attractions is the Express Train. More than a simple ride through the grounds, this one-of-a-kind excursion leads straight through a petting zoo!
On this 20-minute train ride, you'll splash through the cascading waterfall of Mystery Mountain en-route to the Texas Wildlife Petting Park. Friendly deer and many other critters eagerly await your arrival, hoping for a nibble of food or a head scratch, at the very least.
Passengers of all ages are sure to enjoy interacting with the cute-as-can-be resident animals. The train stops twice, so you'll have ample opportunity to pet and feed them.
No visit to Wonder World would be complete without journeying through the Anti-Gravity House. Step through an interdimensional portal, on the other side of which the laws of physics know no bounds. It's a topsy-turvy adventure if we've ever seen one!
Other park activities include gem mining, an arcade room, observation tower, giant slide, and a gift shop. There's truly something for every visitor, young and old alike, to thoroughly enjoy.
Train-only tickets are $9.50 each; ages three and under ride at no charge. Both animal feed and human refreshments are available at the train station prior to departure. Combination tickets that include multiple attractions are also available, with prices varying based on age.
