Do you know those towns that make you feel right at home? Fulshear is one of them. Between its friendly people, year-round events, and community-oriented atmosphere, this Houston-area city is among the best places to live in Texas. After one visit, you might find yourself wanting to pack up and move here!
As the sign says, Welcome to Fulshear! This small city in Fort Bend County has a population of about 17,000 and boasts a rich history, friendly locals, and a much slower pace of life than the rest of the Greater Houston area.
The town was a rural agricultural community until the 1970s and became an incorporated city in 1977.

When you're driving around Fulshear, you'll see plenty of nods to the town's past, including acres of rolling farmland dotted with hay bales and grazing cows and horses.
I personally love to see all of the historic buildings that look like they've barely changed at all over the years. Also, there's just something about small towns with quaint little post offices that puts a huge smile on my face and leaves me longing for simpler times.
Evidence of this can be seen every Saturday at the Fulshear Farmers Market, which features a wide array of products sourced from within a 200-mile radius of the city.
The market offers everything from fresh produce to meats to artisanal soaps to seasonal goodies like homemade hot cocoa.
Fulshear also works diligently to keep its residents safe, hosting events, such as Trunk-or-Treat for Halloween, that allow kids to enjoy festive fun in a controlled environment.
Holidays are a big deal in Fulshear, too. From the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony to a St. Patrick's Day parade, there's always something to celebrate here.
Visit the City of Fulshear Facebook page for more information about the town.
