Here in Texas, there are several boat adventures you can take for an unforgettable day on the water – these gondolas in San Antonio and this glass-bottomed boat in San Marcos are just a couple of many. The Colonel Paddlewheel in Galveston is by far one of the most unique ones. You’ll board the massive, old-fashioned ship, enjoy delicious cuisine if you booked a dinner cruise, and see the coastal waters like never before. This is one riverboat cruise you’ll want to add to your bucket list.
Take a look:
An exact replica of an 1800s paddlewheel boat, the regal behemoth will instantly whisk you back to another era with its old-fashioned, Victorian style.
The hour-long cruise takes you all around Offatts Bayou, giving you a chance to see the area in ways you never have before. You might even catch a glimpse of some dolphins or other sea creatures!
Dinner cruises are held on the boat about once a month. It's a lavish buffet with a dance floor and cash bar - not to mention the breathtaking views you'll be surrounded by. More information here.
You can also host events on the Colonel Paddlewheel! Whether it's a company party or family get-together, look no further for the perfect venue. The Texas Room can hold 240 people, and the Galveston room seats 200. Both have a 144 square-foot dance floor, a bar, and a sound system with microphones.
Adult tickets are $12.95, children and seniors are $10.05, and there's no charge for children under three. Boarding begins 30 minutes before the cruise, and the gates close 10 minutes prior to departure.
No matter if you have a special occasion to host or simply want to take a relaxing ride on one of the most unique boats in Texas, the Colonel Paddlewheel is the place to do it.
