Katie Lawrence is a Southeast Texas native who graduated 18th in her high school class with a GPA of 4.25. She attended college in the Houston area and began writing for OnlyInYourState in 2015.
Today, Katie writes, edits, and performs several other tasks for OnlyInYourState and has never been more passionate about a job before. Outside of work, you can likely find her curled up on with a hot cup of coffee, practicing yoga, baking, or exploring the beautiful Lone Star State (in particular, the vast and mystical West Texas desert).
Before the advent of advanced gaming systems, you could find circa 1980s teenagers holed up inside a local arcade on any given day. Pac-Man was easily one of the most popular machines, and its legacy has, and likely will continue to, live on for decades.
Early next year, Immersive Gaming Event Company will allow Houstonians to tap into some of those most cherished childhood memories. A human-sized Pac-Man maze brings the game to life and lets you take on the main character role.
Just like the classic arcade game we all know and love, this life-sized maze sends participants on a wild goose chase in search of delicious fruits. Get caught by a ghost and you'll lose one life — three, and it's all over!
Harvesting fruit isn't your only objective; that would be much too easy. You'll also be tasked with deciphering the secret code of a very difficult puzzle.
Escape the maze and you'll be treated to an 80s-themed room with tons more nostalgic games and activities. Prizes will be offered throughout the event.
Tickets start at $15 and are on sale now. While the exact date and location have yet to be announced, you can stay up-to-date by checking the event's official website.
Visit the event’s website for additional information and ticket purchase. Simply type in your city and email to receive updates as they are announced!
Have you ever been to an Immersive Gaming Event Company? If so, don’t hesitate to tell us all about the experience! Will you be attending the Pac-Man maze when it visits Houston in March?
