The tiny town of Lockhart is known as the “Barbecue Capital of Texas,” and Black’s is largely to thank for such a prestigious designation. Family-owned since day one, Black’s is the oldest barbecue restaurant in Texas, and the meat is smoked the same way it has been for nearly 100 years.
Black’s has several other locations in the Hill Country. Visit its website or Facebook page for more information.
Have you ever been to the oldest barbecue restaurant in Texas? If so, what did you order and how was it? Tell us in the comments! Hungry for more Texas BBQ? This road trip takes you to seven little-known joints sure to make your mouth water.
