What’s your favorite thing about old-school diners in Texas? All-day breakfast is definitely one of ours, and you’ll find just that at Original Market Diner in Dallas. This family-owned joint is throwing it back to the 1950s with a retro vibe and hearty, all-American eats like burgers, chicken-fried steak, pie, and all sorts of scrumptious breakfast items. Whether you’re in the mood for an omelet (or eggs cooked any style), pancakes or French toast, or steak and eggs, it’s impossible to have a bad meal at one of the best restaurants in Dallas.
Formerly a classic drive-in restaurant, Original Market Diner is a family-owned and operated old-school eatery in Texas that will take you back to simpler times.
Both inside and out, the diner looks like it was plucked straight out of the 1950s and transported to the 21st century. Between the black-and-white checkered floors, menu board, pie case, and vintage counter stools, this place is a true blast from the past.
Just wait until you see their massive, 7-page menu. Breakfast is served all day long, with offerings ranging from mile-high pancake stacks to specialty omelets to Southern favorites like smoked ham and eggs.
Other options include several different kinds of French toast, eggs benedict, chicken and waffles, and virtually anything else your heart could possibly desire. Pair your breakfast with a tall cup of the diner's special coffee blend, and you're well on your way to having a great day.
If you aren't in the mood for breakfast, don't fret. The lunch and dinner offerings are just as tasty! Blue plate specials are available every weekday, ranging from chicken and dumplings to meatloaf and mashed potatoes. You'll also see a variety of other daily specials (weekends included!) such as baked chicken and catfish filets.
Additional lunch and dinner selections include liver and onions, chicken-fried steak, pork chops, burgers, and so many more homestyle meals. Let's not forget about the sides, either - from fried okra to baked macaroni and cheese to turnip greens, these country classics pair perfectly with any entrée.
